Red Team, Take Two: Maximizing Red Team Engagement Potential – Insights From Both The Consultant & The Executive

This co-presentation involves insights from both a strategic White Oak Security client (specifically their Information Security Director) and the White Oak Security consultant that performed their most recent Red Team. Brett is an experienced penetration tester who will discuss the technical aspects about the red team penetration testing methodology and what makes it a red team, touching on Reconnaissance, Weaponization, Delivery, Exploitation, Command & Control, Actions On Objectives, and more. Kristi, the Information Security Director for a large client, will then talk about the remediation / triage process from the business standpoint on each segment of the red team engagement to demonstrate the holistic approach to security assessment and improvement. This presentation allows for an understanding from both sides of the table, learning from an experienced pentester and client with a mature security posture. The audience will discover what it takes to have a successful engagement that improves the security posture of an organization.
