Introduction:
At Cyber Advisors, we are not only committed to providing top-notch services but also deeply value our employees' dedication to serving important causes outside of work. This coming weekend, one of our remarkable team members, Jon Evans, will be embarking on a 24-hour gaming marathon to support Extra Life, an organization dedicated to raising funds for children's hospitals. Join us as we delve into Jon's extraordinary history with the event, the cause he's supporting, and the games that will make a difference.

About Extra Life:
Extra Life is a charitable organization celebrating its 15th anniversary, striving to raise funds for children's hospitals and create awareness about the health challenges faced by kids. They organize multiple events throughout the year, with November's event being their largest, focusing on video games. Extra Life has partnered with Twitch, creating a leaderboard and a unique opportunity for gamers to contribute to the cause.

Jon's Connection to the Cause:
Jon's connection to Extra Life runs deep, this year marks his 7th year of involvement, and the 6th consecutive year. In years past he has reached the Silver Medal Hero level. This year he is going for Gold! Jon's current donations are sitting at $105, which is nowhere near his goal! His personal fundraising goal for 2023 is to raise at least $500 to make silver again but is aiming for $1,000 so he can claim the gold medal. He will be raising funds specifically for Gillette Children's hospital here in Minnesota. Jon's motivation to support Extra Life stems from the impact of COVID-19 on both children and the elderly. He believes it is vital to fund this organization and build awareness of the challenges they face.

The Fundraising Event:
Extra Life is not your typical charity drive. Jon will be embarking on a 24-hour gaming marathon! Though he did admit “In my ‘old age’, I find it hard to sit in front of the computer for a solid 24 hours.” He has taken to breaking up the commitment over a weekend. Commencing on Friday from 3 PM to 6 PM, followed by a full day on Saturday, starting at 9 AM and going until he “can't keep his eyes open”. Then bring it home on Sunday with another 4-6 hours of gaming. The gaming sessions will be streamed on Twitch, providing viewers with an opportunity to join and interact with Jon during the event.

Interactive Donations:
Extra Life paired with the company Dixper, an interactive platform, to make the donation experience engaging and fun. Donors can trigger various interactive events when they donate during Jon’s stream. For example, when you donate $4 every time Jon hits his left-click, might produce a honking sound like a goose! Other donation levels will prompt over “interruptions”. This element of interactivity adds an exciting dimension to the fundraising efforts. Jon said “It has been a cool addition in recent years. It spices things up and keeps me on my toes!”

Game Lineup:
I was curious, how did he decided what to play for that long! During the 24-hour marathon, Jon will be diving into an varied lineup of games, including Baldur's Gate 3, Diablo 4, Tiny Tina's Wonderland (a Borderlands spin-off), Counter-Strike, Left 4 Dead 2, and many more. The games played can also be influenced by audience requests and the preferences of Jon's friends who will be joining him on Discord for added interactions!

Join the Fun:
You can watch Jon's gaming marathon live on Twitch and get to know the man behind the controller. If you're feeling extra generous, help Jon achieve his fundraising goal of $1,000, and together, we can make him a Gold Medal Hero for Extra Life. Jon has a personal page through Extra Life! This is your go to place to keep up with the action and make your donations!

Conclusion:
We're immensely proud of Jon for his dedication to supporting Extra Life and the children's hospitals they serve. As he embarks on this 24-hour gaming marathon, let's rally behind him and contribute to this fantastic cause. Together, we can make a real impact and help children in need. Don't forget to tune in this weekend to be a part of Jon's journey!
